Anisyl chloride (also known as methoxybenzoyl chloride) is an acyl halide, especially an aromatic acyl chloride, that can be formed by anisyl acid by replacing the hydroxyl group of a carboxylic acid with a chlorine group. There are three types of isomers: ortho-isomers, meso-isomers, and para-isomers. Their structures differ in aromatic substitution patterns - the position of methoxy groups on the ring compared to acyl halides
